Tour of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with Palmer Center

Things to see at the oldest active military post west of the Hudson River are the Frontier Army Museum including personal artifacts of General Henry Leavenworth and an exhibit depicting the history of African American servicemen – the Buffalo Soldiers.

Lunch at the Riverfront Community Center served by Harvey Girls.  Entertainment by the Possum Holler Four Barbershop Quartet.

After lunch take a ride on the restored wooden carousel at the CW Parker Museum.  The Palmer Center serves people 60 years of age or older, but you do not have to reside in Independence.

Tour departs from the parking lot on the SE corner of Maple and Pleasant, Independence, MO.  Picture ID required to enter Fort Leavenworth (passport preferred).  It’s very difficult to gain access unless you are with a sponsoring group.

Deadline to Register is October 5, 2018.  Price is $75 including lunch and motor coach.  Reservations will be accepted after September 14, 2018 by calling (816) 325-6200.
