Juneteenth in Liberty, Missouri

Trolley Tours with historical narration.

Tour times are 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Trolleys will pick up passengers at the Fire Station at 200 W. Mississippi, Liberty, MO.  You may park in spaces at the Fire Station and across the street at the Clay County Election Board on Mississippi, and along Prairie Street. 

Cecelia Robinson and Harold Phillips will be tour guides in period attire.  Cecelia will play the role of Ms. Hazel Black, the black Historian from Liberty who moved there from the White Oak area during the Great Migration.  Harold will play Perry Samuel, the bi-racial stepson of Zerelda James Samuel who was the mother of Frank and Jesse.  Dr. Robert Samuel was married to Zerelda when he fathered Perry with their slave, Charlotte, who lived on the James farm.  They will tour all the African-American sites in Liberty included in their brochure.

The cost of the trolley tour is $20. Information about reservations to be announced.
